Down To The Wire...Again, is a 60 minute documentary film about life on the campaign trail in rural America. Down To The WIre...Again portrays Dr.Barb Brown campaigning for an Illinois State Senate seat...again. A seat she had lost in the previous election by a mere 127 votes. Her display of honesty, hardwork, make this documentary less about politics and more about perseverance. Barb is followed by filmmaker Frank Barthol during her last 4 days of her 1998 campaign. The film is a passage into the life and times off the beaten path in rural Illinois, a passage of grace and dignity. Then, reality jolts the viewer back, with tragic updates from yesterday's decisions.
It is a time capsule, capturing beautifully, life in many communities, small and smaller. The film reveals the true fabric of rural life, not often told in a media that is dominated by urban issues. It sways far away from the politics and into life's real adventures, making a bold statement.
She helps realize the possibilities of change.

The evening will open with a brief discussion with the director and the star of the documentary, as well as greetings after the showing. Limited to 120 seats, tickets are $15, along with the discussion, a glass of wine or other beverage.
Here is a wonderful chance at seeing southern Illinois on screen. A local project by a local director. Limited seating, so order tickets early.
