A VERY BRIEF ROLE DISCRIPTION--
The Wedding Ring is an original drama/comedy written by
the director. It is conversation from normal, well adjusted adults that unintentionally meet at the reception
of a common friend's wedding.
Strangers at first, joke and bond during a chicken dinner
with cake.
Without giving away the plot....a brief breakdown of
characters. I mean brief.
11 main characters--CJ and Heather, father and daughter, 50's
and early 20's. CJ a stern , accomplished adult white male, Heather, young energetic, happy.
Ben and Sheila, husband and wife, mid 40's, successful,
intelligent, Ben work absorbed, Sheila, great role, reaches alot of emotional levels..confident, a little down and out.
Greg, small town, an idealist...mid 30's. Was the main character,
but the story slightly moved away from him.
Mitchell and Sue, couple, 40's or 50's, Mitchell is a slap
happy guy who wraps himself tight in his world. Sue, the quite and understanding one that watches over the narrow design of
Mitchell. Mitchell's role would have the greatest fun.
Gary and Kara, husband and wife, longtime Californians, late 40's
again. Accomplished people, intelligent. Gary more of a straight role, Kara the sensible role.
Greer and Kathryn, elderly friends,(I worry these roles are so
important to the story), 60's-70's, Kathryn is gentle, comfortable, open and genuine, Greer, less tolerant, maybe has
a chip on her shoulder. Important roles to the film.
Nearly all roles are open to actors of all ethnicities.
The project's
setting is Orange County, Los Angeles in the early fall 10 years ago.
Small parts, bride, groom, food server.
